Volunteer Code of Conduct
Thank you for volunteering!
Now let's get on the same page as to what that looks like.
We value our Community Park PTO volunteers and the many hours of service they provide, and therefore have developed the following Code of Conduct to help protect the volunteers, school body, Princeton Public Schools, and Community Park Elementary School PTO.
Volunteers will adhere to the Code of Conduct throughout their commitments with CP PTO.
Remember the purpose of the CP PTO: “We are a group of dedicated parents, teachers, and community members who are committed to supporting the school and its students. We work to provide enrichment programs, support school initiatives, and advocate for the needs of our students.”
Respect the PPS and CP PTO rules, the administration, teachers, staff, students, and each other. All verbal and written communication involving CP PTO will be respectful and must be delivered in a professional manner. All verbal and written communication should be free of profanity or language that disparages or targets others.
Additionally, if there are children in a photograph, please refer to the Electronic / Digital Media Consent form with the main office before posting on any public platform without written permission.
Keep your promises. If you say you will do something, please fulfill your obligations to the best of your ability. If you cannot keep your commitments, please notify an Executive Board Member or the lead organizer of the activity immediately so appropriate steps may be taken to complete the activity or fill the need of your role.
Be open‐minded. Listen to others’ ideas, suggestions, and solutions. Be a team player. You have a unique set of gifts and talents to bring to the PTO. Use them to the best of your ability and allow others to do the same.
Take ownership of and pride in your tasks. When you volunteer, you represent the CP PTO and your work reflects upon the organization. If you identify a problem, please collaborate to find a solution by collaborating with the lead organizer or CP PTO Executive Board.
Maintain confidentiality. It is important to respect and protect personal information you may encounter during volunteering or while in meetings. Please refrain from slander and gossip while engaged in volunteer activities. As representatives of the CP PTO, volunteers should strive to maintain a positive environment.
Members of this PTO shall not use their own personal social media platforms to cyberbully, insult, embarrass, target, or post threats of physical or verbal abuse towards any individuals, including school board officials, school administrators, teachers, PTO members, volunteers, or other individuals that are associated with Princeton Public Schools or the CP PTO.
Should you become aware that a volunteer is acting or has acted in violation of the PTO Code of Conduct, please contact a member of the PTO Executive Board as soon as possible.
Any inappropriate behavior, as determined by the CP PTO Executive Board, may result in your immediate and permanent dismissal as a CP PTO volunteer.
I have received, reviewed, and agree to adhere to the Community Park Code of Conduct. I acknowledge that violations of this Code of Conduct may result in action and will be addressed by the CP PTO Executive Board.
