Enrichment

Where the magic happens

Our enrichment programs are the heart of the special programming that Community Park PTO supports. Here is where the bulk of our fundraising efforts are spent and hours of memories are made.

Programs

Residencies

Each year, artists or special groups from throughout the community are invited to work with each grade level to complete a project or performance. These extended interactions are called residencies. These residencies provide enrichment to the classroom experience extending the learning into more real world applications and may change from year to year.

STEAM Day

Students explore the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math with parent and community presenters. Throughout the day, each grade gets to rotate through a number of different presentations ranging from rocket launching to music exploration to hands on reptile handling. It's also a great way to have the high school students act as mentors for the elementary school students for the day.

Volunteers are needed for presentations, set up, lunch, and clean up. Coming in March 2024!

Science Fair

Pick a science topic that interests you. Choose a question to answer and form your hypothesis (what you think the answer is). Then conduct an experiment and gather data to prove or disprove your hypothesis. All CP students are encouraged to participate & all students have the opportunity to attend.

Volunteer panelists are needed for this event in April 2024.

International Cultural Fair

Let's celebrate our amazing diversity! The International Fashion Show is part of this event. Students will be able to show off their favorite country: their home nation, country where their parents/grandparents are from, or a place they've lived, visited or read about. Volunteers needed for the show only during school hours in May 2024.

After School Activities

Clubs are a great way to add to the school day and get to try something new or practice something you love. Past clubs include chess, fencing, yoga, meditation, capoera, slime, piano, ink & oil pastels and so many more. These programs switch seasonally and have limited enrollment.

Volunteers are essential to the running of clubs. Please consider volunteering so that we can have these amazing opportunities.

Summer Spanish Camp

Guided activities, water play, games and story time - all taught in Spanish by CP teachers - is a great introduction for rising kinder students to immersion as well as an awesome mid-summer Spanish refresher for all other CP students. Middle and high school students support the teachers with language while parent volunteers assist with logistics. No Spanish experience necessary for volunteers.

Registration coming spring for camp July 8-12, 2024. Students from other schools are also welcome to participate.
